Development

Mechanical Development

The department consists of two teams. In the area of design, mechanical assemblies and subsystems are calculated and designed.
Design work usually starts with a concept that is coordinated with other departments.
In certain cases, data collection is also required domestically and internationally.

Based on customer requirements, the team defines acceptance criteria for the products under development. Furthermore, they support manufacturing planning and procurement in selecting suppliers. Cross-departmental change management is the responsibility of the team.
The second team in the department is responsible for manufacturing planning.
Based on the bill of materials from the development departments, they determine the assembly sequence and request capacities from the manufacturing departments.

The team closely collaborates with hardware development, procurement, and warehousing.
Progress in parts supply, manufacturing, and production is regularly monitored.

Electrical & Electronics Development

The electrical area is covered within the department by the Electrical Design team.
In close collaboration with other development teams, they design, calculate, and draw various electrical assemblies and subsystems using our CAD/CAE program. The team handles the programming of control and regulation systems for our products.
The final commissioning in the manufacturing departments is accompanied by the Electrical Design team.
Firmware development and PCB layout design are the responsibility of the Electronics team.

The team participates in data collection domestically and internationally to capture all necessary functions of the assemblies under development.
Close coordination with the design team is crucial for their work.

Acceptance criteria for the assemblies are defined based on customer requirements.
Once the devices are assembled in production, the team supports initial commissioning.

Software Design

Based on customer requirements and data collection from the original equipment, various simulation models are developed in the department.
Development of flight models is based on flight test data, with fine-tuning relying on pilot feedback. Additional models necessary for simulation (wind, weather, air traffic models, etc.) are developed in the department, and communication between different models is managed through our "Reiser Modular Simulation Framework."

The department is also responsible for integrating various visual databases and selecting different IT hardware components.
Our Test Integration team ensures that software and hardware function as a cohesive system, meeting requirements and specifications.

Manufacturing and Production

Mechanical Manufacturing

Our Mechanical Manufacturing uses CNC turning and milling machines for light and heavy machining.
The department manufactures components for Reiser's own assemblies and for contract manufacturing. After programming, much of the production involves single-part and small-series manufacturing.

This includes the high-precision manufacturing of complex components.
Internal quality control ensures that the high standards of component quality are achieved.

Project Management & Systems Engineering

Project Management

In Project Management, all activities from operational business are consolidated within projects. Project management oversees projects throughout their entire lifecycle, starting with supporting the sales department and customers in defining the required training solution, through internal development, procurement, and production, to on-site installation and commissioning.

The tasks are diverse, ranging from classic project management duties such as cost, time, and capacity planning, to actively shaping the training solution and maintaining relationships with key customers.

The project manager serves as the primary point of contact both internally and externally, responsible for the successful execution of the project.

Technical Editorial

The Technical Documentation department is a small team primarily responsible for creating external customer documentation. This includes operation manuals, parts lists, spare parts catalogs, and training materials.

ST4 is used as the editorial system where all relevant information is consolidated and maintained. Our documentation is primarily published in PDF and HTML formats. Besides the editorial system, Catia Composer is also an important tool used for creating graphics.
Information for the documents is developed in collaboration with colleagues from various departments or researched independently in the Product Data Management System. Direct contact and collaboration with these departments are therefore crucial aspects of the Technical Documentation team's daily work. For instance, it's possible to have complex issues demonstrated by the System Integration team on real products, or the Service Team provides feedback to the Technical Documentation team on potential improvements in maintenance procedures.

Additional tasks handled by the Technical Documentation department include supporting bids, creating sales documents (e.g., product catalogs), developing and revising templates for the company-wide document landscape, and conducting Word training sessions.

Customer Service & Support

The Customer Service and Support (CSS) team is responsible for all matters related to delivered products and serves as the first point of contact for customers.
Main tasks include answering technical questions, managing repairs, preparing spare parts quotations, coordinating the manufacture of replacement parts, and planning deployments at customer simulator sites.

To monitor the various tasks and their respective statuses, the CSS team uses a customized version of Jira Service Desk as its ticketing system. Customers also have access to this ticketing system to create their own tickets or check the progress of existing tickets.

The team comprises customer support specialists and engineers specializing in individual components, cockpits, and full-flight simulators. Daily work involves handling challenging tasks in close collaboration with all other departments within the company to achieve high customer satisfaction.

Supply Chain

Procurement

Our Procurement team is divided into operational, strategic, and technical procurement.
The technical procurement covers manufacturing parts and electronic components. Both types of procurement provide advisory services to the development departments. The strategic procurement is responsible for sourcing larger subsystems. Initially, specifications are developed jointly with the relevant departments.
Following this, supplier selection is based on defined criteria, and the strategic procurement team finalizes the contract negotiations.

Operational procurement handles the demand for manufacturing and purchasing items scheduled by production planning. Close coordination with suppliers and production planning is maintained throughout these processes.

Warehouse

Our Warehouse team is responsible for the material flow at Reiser, processing shipments from customers, suppliers, and the other two Reiser locations. In goods receipt, shipments are checked for quality and quantity.

Subsequently, the items are booked into inventory and in some cases directly forwarded to specialist departments for immediate use in assembly. Close collaboration with the Purchasing and Production Planning teams ensures efficient organization of the material flow.

In the picking process, production orders from Production Planning are assembled according to the material bills of materials and transferred to goods issue on time. At goods issue, production orders and other shipments are prepared for dispatch and subsequently shipped out.

Administration

Human Resources

Our Human Relations team is responsible for recruitment, administration, development, and human resources marketing.
Within recruitment, job descriptions and vacancies are developed in collaboration with the specialist departments and advertised through various channels or direct approaches are made.

In addition to personnel administration involving the issuance of certificates and references, personnel development holds a high priority. Human resources play an advisory role and books various training measures according to the specifications from the specialist departments. The development of the employer brand is conducted in collaboration with the management, and human resources marketing is carried out across various channels by the team.

IT

The IT department focuses on ensuring network/server administration, application support, and data security. Our team is the primary contact for all IT-related matters within the company.

In addition to these responsibilities, the team manages the development of the ERP system and continuously builds the business intelligence system. During the implementation of new systems (e.g., Enterprise Content Management System), IT advises on vendor selection and supports the subsequent rollout in collaboration with the relevant departments.

Housekeeping / Maintenance

Our housekeeping team takes care of providing snacks and lunch, as well as selecting part of the interior furnishings to ensure a pleasant working atmosphere and clean premises. Additionally, the team regularly organizes events where everyone can participate, providing opportunities for socializing and enjoying delicious food and drinks.

Our technical maintenance ensures that the outdoor facilities are always in excellent condition and coordinates external tradespeople. The team also manages the company's fleet. In case of disruptions to building systems, technical maintenance handles repairs promptly and conducts regular maintenance of building systems. Through the transport service, the team ensures timely and accurate deliveries between locations.

Front Desk

Our Front Desk team ensures through travel management that our employees can embark on and carry out business trips relaxed. They warmly welcome and guide visitors at our locations.
Furthermore, they take responsibility for handling inquiries via email and telephone. In collaboration with the housekeeping team, they organize the hospitality for visitors.

Finance

Accounting

Our accounting department collects, verifies, and compiles all information for the balance sheet and income statement. They closely collaborate with the purchasing team in documenting financial flows of money and goods.

Moreover, they provide data to ensure cash flow planning and other key financial metrics.

Corporate and Project Controlling

Our team significantly supports project management in monitoring projects regarding financial metrics. Variances from planned figures are analyzed, and the results are presented to project management.

In the field of corporate controlling, the team works closely with the accounting department to produce regular reports on financial performance.

Business Development and Sales

Business Development

Our business development team develops new business models based on the company strategy. They analyze existing and new markets and derive strategies to capture these markets or new business fields.

In close collaboration with the management, they establish new partnerships with other companies. At trade shows worldwide, direct discussions are held with potential customers to gather first-hand information for new products or to position existing products in new markets.

Marketing and Sales

Our sales team maintains close contact with existing customers and develops new ones. Technology products and services are sold at trade shows and especially through direct contact.

The team is responsible for creating marketing and sales concepts. In this context, they closely coordinate with the business development department and the technical team.

Our marketing team primarily designs our external appearance, and the trade shows we regularly attend. Based on information from the developing departments, the team designs product advertising.

Sponsoring and Engagement


We are deeply rooted in the region, and it is very important to us that we regularly support local associations. This provides opportunities for these associations to make larger purchases that have been planned for some time, or to procure additional equipment, for example, for the volunteer fire brigade.
However, we are also aware that there are many regions in the world where people are far less fortunate than us. To make a small contribution to these people, we continue to donate money regularly to various organizations.

This includes financial support for crisis regions such as Afghanistan or for children in refugee camps.
To do this, we approach selected institutions such as UNICEF or Welthungerhilfe.
